Homechoice: Troubleshooting

How do I get ICQ to work with Homechoice?

Read this document.

Configure ICQ as follows under the menu ICQ/Preferences/ Connections tabs: 

  User:     I have it as 'use server proxy'
  Firewall: SOCKS5, Host gw1.homechoice.co.uk, port 1080 
            (nothing ticked,other boxes empty)
  Server->Proxy settings:  Select 'Using firewall'+'Not using proxy'
  General->Firewall ip settings: Always use internal IP
Several users have reported that it is not possible to receive files or communicate with other HC subscribers when using this technique.
